Congratulations to the 10 year old and the 13/14 year old All Star Teams. Two of our four All Star teams for 2008 won their District and are headed to the State Finals later this week in Newport. Congratulations to the 10 year old and the 13/14 year old All Star Teams. The 10s were coached by Brandon Merchant, Allen Sherman, Boyd Coggins and Dave McGoldrick. Brandon had the following to say about last night’s District clinching performance. “We won 13-3 in 4 innings (10-run rule) last night. Tom Hay Coggins pitched all 4 innings and was pretty incredible. He also went 2 for 2 including a 3-run HR, a single and 2 walks, the last creating the game winning rbi with his bases loaded walk in the bottom of the 4th. The 10s were also sparked by clutch hitting from Alex Alveraz, Joe McGoldrick and Kyle Pace. In fact the entire team hit well all tournament as we had 38 hits in our 4 games. In addition to Tom Hay, Joe also pitched extremely well throughout the tourney and the defense definitely backed them up. Defensively plays were made all over the field with key plays being made when it counted”. The 13/14 year old All Star team was coached by Mark Crowther, Mark Smith, Craig Holder and Mark Mensheha. Coach Crowther summarized his team’s tournament with the following: “The 14U Babe Ruth team won the Area 3 tournament without losing a game and advanced to the State Tournament in Hendersonville, which will be played 7/16-7/21. Great pitching, solid defense, and clutch hitting allowed us to outscore our opponents 38-5 (16-4 over Steele Creek; 7-0 forfeit over PAL; 4-0 over Park Sharon; and 11-1(5 innings) over Matthews). Bo Coggins, Keisuke Ishikawa and Ben Simmons were on the mound got the wins. We made just 5 errors in 3 games, which included 2 double plays and Spencer Ball getting 2 OF assists. Jake Foery (game #1), K (game #2) and Bo (game #3) had two out RBI hits that were critical. Our success was truly a team effort in that, despite the absence of a "must play" rule, every player started at least one game and made a contribution either at the plate or in the field. We could not have won the tournament without plays from all 13 guys”.

| Parking information for Randolph Park IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION AND WARNING Mecklenburg County Police Officers have indicated that they are going to start ticketing cars that are improperly parked (in grass, blocking gates, not in marked places, by gas pumps, etc.) or parked in lots where we are not authorized to park, including the Chemical Dependency Center across Billingsley Road. We suggest that you drop off the children at the main gate and find a legal parking spot in our main lot or at one of the alternate lots on the same side of the street further down Billingsley on the left. Do not park across Billingsley Road at the Chemical Dependency Center or around or near the gas pumps adjacent to our main lot. Also, feel free to make use of the Grier Heights lot just down the hill on Randolph Rd. This lot is freshly paved and marked and, even when T-ball games are going on, should have available spots. Thanks for your understanding and support.
